  • Well there is an huge difference between the Ferrari and the aston martin well the first is the history of motorsport a bit like the City of Rome in the history of humanity. The aston is a part of history of motorsport

  • I really like Chris Harris but he seems to hate Ferraris, the Roma is a gorgeous car and while it may look similar to the Aston here and there I think it looks better than the Aston from all angles, especially when you see them in person, plus the Aston has a big problem too, IT'S NOT A FERRARI

    MR AMMR AM10 dager siden
    • He doesn't hate them, he holds some of them in extremely high regard. They're just the Rolex of car manufacturers, meaning many of their models are made for people that want to buy a supercar, but don't really know cars. He's just openly critical of cars that miss the mark (in his opinion, of course), and he's even endured a press car ban from Ferrari before for bad mouthing their cars, which is truly pathetic of them.

  • Someone should remember to Chris Harris that Aston Martin design was ever inspired looking at the Italian Gran Turismo cars as Ferrari or Maserati. So technically is Aston Martin that is a mix, Ferrari just keep is way to design cars.

  • The Roma is an hommage to the old Ferrari's from the late 50s and 60s. And Aston Martins looked like Ferraris back in the days. So you dont really seem to know Ferrari and Aston history well. The Lusso, the GTOs etc..

  • Seriously disagree. And no respectable lawyer on the planet would take that "case". The form factors of many cars today - and in the past - use pervasive contemporary cues that give away their respective eras. Non hard-core car people, even now, have trouble distinguishing, for example, between the C8 and a "Ferrari". And if you're criticizing this car, but looking at the 456 as an icon, then there's a problem in perspective: talk about derivative... What defines design is, in context, not generally the form factor, but the balance, details and execution. And, yes, this *looks* like a Ferrari and will stand the test of time. Yet, it is clearly more contemporary and projects the impression of advancement. This, though maybe a bit to subtle for Chris's first look, as it were, is a very successful design. And as for the company trying to sell too many things, they are in the process of modernizing - again - which is something other car makers need to do more often. This example, the SF90 and the 812 carry a design DNA that demonstrates their design direction clearly. If I had the means, I wouldn't think twice about putting this rig in my garage, probably along with a Superfast (and a few other non-Ferrari gotta-haves!).

  • The first time I saw the Roma, I was immediately reminded of the 612 Scaglietti. Put them side by side and the Roma looks like a modern version of that. While it's definitely there, I didn't see the Aston Martin resemblance until it was pointed out to me. The more I look at the Roma I can see hints of AMG GT in there as well but I think it's a stretch to call it a straight up copy while the 612 exists. Overall, I'd buy this for the little bit of added livability over the F8. This or push for the SF90.

  • 2:09 "If the world's going to look back on the SUV-era as being a bit embarrassing..." Is Harris really this out of touch? SUV's are the most popular segment in the industry for good reason...they're better at everything that matters in the real world. Regular people don't care about handling or performance. Regular people care about ride height. Height is good. Height is a luxury. A tall car is easier to get into and out of, easier to load stuff into the boot, easier to load children into childseats, easier to see over shrubs and stone walls, tall enough to never scrape on curbs, and tall enough to either see over small cars or see through other SUV's windows. The SUV-era is only going to continue to grow, especially as EV's become more common, because larger cars can accommodate larger battery packs, thus giving them superior range.

Ferrari Roma is elegant, not screamingly luxury but also nor sporty nor too aggressive. I have never liked a ferrari throughout my entire life, and was very confused why people were getting excited about them, but this changed it all. Aston is a sports car, but this is a proper GT. Elegant is really the word for it.
